Bacchus

Bacchus is a name used by several different bands, including a DIY experimental crust outfit from Galway, Ireland, a sludge/stoner metal band from Seattle, Washington, a 1970s hard rock group, and a mysterious atmospheric black metal band from Lyon, France.

Galway crust band

The Galway line-up forms in late 2007 and plays its first gig in June 2008. It works in an experimental crust style, blending epic Swedish-style crust with slow, heavy passages and reverb-and-delay soundscapes. Its releases include a three-track EP called Attica and a split 7-inch with the UK band Burning the Prospect. It is associated with the crust, neocrust, hardcore, sludge and dark hardcore scenes, and is linked to bands such as HHIG, Perth Express, Zann, Acursed, Remains of the Day, Cult of Luna and Skitsystem.

Seattle sludge band

Another Bacchus is a sludge/stoner metal band from Seattle, Washington. This version of the band releases a self-titled album and a 7-inch.

1970s hard rock band

A different Bacchus is a 1970s hard rock band. Its song Carry My Load appears on Riding Easy Records’ compilation Brown Acid: The First Trip.

Lyon black metal band

There is also an atmospheric black metal band named Bacchus from Lyon, France.
