Babylon Circus is a French group formed in Lyon in 1995. It is a ten-piece band associated with ska, reggae, ragga hip-hop, rock, and related crossovers, and it includes Christophe Millot among its members.

Overview

The band begins as a ska group and soon broadens its sound, bringing together punk, reggae, rock, swing, and jazz influences. It performs in both French and English, and sometimes combines the two languages in the same song.

Releases and touring

Babylon Circus releases four full-length albums and one EP. Its third album, Dances of Resistance, is recorded in 2003 and has a largely anti-war theme. Another album, La Belle Étoile, appears in 2009. The group plays more than 1,000 shows across Europe and tours beyond Europe, including in Syria, Australia, Abu Dhabi, and New Zealand.
