BabyHead

BabyHead is a Bristol-based five-piece band associated with ska, dub, reggae, ska punk and hip hop. The group presents itself as part of the Bristol sound and has been active for more than a decade.

Band history and line-up

The band says it has not split, but that New Year’s Eve marks the last show for members Bloodworth, Pleeth and Fluff, with the core continuing the project. BabyHead therefore carries on with a reduced line-up while keeping the same name and musical identity.

BabyHead describes a shift in direction for its third studio album, moving towards a stripped-back blend of dub, technology and showmanship. The result is presented as a deeper and heavier sound while keeping the group’s energetic live approach.

Live work and recognition

The band has a reputation for live performance and is described as a festival favourite. It is nominated for Feel Good Act at the UK Festival Awards 2008 and has played a limited number of shows and festivals while focusing on studio recording.
