BAAD

BAAD is a Japanese rock group formed in 1992. The band’s core line-up consists of 山田恭二 on main vocals, 大田紳一郎 on guitar and vocals, 小林正道 on bass, and 新井康徳 on drums. Later, 秦秀樹 joins as a second vocalist. The group is associated with j-pop, j-rock and pop rock, and it is active from 1992 to the present.

Career

BAAD makes its debut in February 1993 with the single どんな時でも Hold Me Tight. It then reaches wider recognition with 君が好きだと叫びたい, which becomes its best-known song and is used as the opening theme for the anime series Slam Dunk. The band releases material through ZAIN RECORDS and later Columbia.

Line-up and activity

In 1995, 山田恭二 leaves the band, and 秦秀樹 replaces him as an additional vocalist. After this change, BAAD moves from ZAIN Records to Nippon Columbia. By the end of its first run, the group has released 10 singles and 3 albums.
