Azure

Azure is a Swedish black/death metal group formed in 1995 in Sweden. The band begins as a melodic black metal and melodic death metal project and later moves towards a more technical sound.

Guitarist and vocalist Robban Kanto forms the band. The rhythm section later changes when Mattias Holmgren, who also plays in Embracing, Tired Tree and formerly Naglfar, and Peter Uvén, who also plays in Embracing and April Divine, join the line-up.

The band’s lyrics are set in Hevalia, a fantasy world created by Kanto, and span different time periods within that setting. Their album Moonlight Legend appears in 1998, followed by the EP A Vicious Age Lasting in the same year and King of Stars - Bearer of Dark in 2005. The latter album continues the story from Moonlight Legend.
