Ayre Point

Ayre Point are a five-piece indie rock band from Bristol, UK. Three of the members — frontman Dan Morgan, Tom McAndrew and Ian Pring — meet at university in Bristol. Guitarist Billy Smith then joins, after which the group performs as a four-piece. Vocalist and pianist Richard Wilks joins in 2011, and the band has performed live in that line-up since then.

Releases and activity

The band’s debut EP, Finding Footprints, is released in November 2012. It is followed by a UK tour in December 2012.

Sound

Ayre Point are described as an indie rock group with folk rock and rock influences. Their music uses a wide range of guitar and vocal techniques and draws on genres including country and math, while keeping a pop sensibility. Their songs also move between acoustic-leaning sections and stronger rock passages.
