Awaken Demons is a hardcore and beatdown group from Germany. The band forms in 2005, starting as a new project built around a shared message and a straight edge identity. Its members come from a number of other acts, including Sentence, Reprisal and Shall I Die.

Formation and line-up

The group begins with Nick and Massimiliano, who first decide to start the project in the summer of 2005. Enrico later joins and the band starts writing songs. Raffaele then comes in on drums after about a year without a permanent drummer. Alessandro and later Luca join as vocalists, but Alessandro leaves for personal reasons, leaving Luca as the only singer.

Background and style

Awaken Demons describes itself as a straight edge band. Some members are vegan, some vegetarian and some meat eaters, but straight edge is the shared point across the group. The band also makes clear that it should not be identified as a vegan band. Its sound is associated with hardcore, beatdown hardcore and moshcore.

The band includes members connected to Sentence, Ex Reprisal and Shall I Die. Raffaele is identified as the first drummer of Reprisal.
