avondale45

avondale45 are a three-piece punk, garage and indie band from the South Coast. The line-up is Al on vocals and guitar, Joe on drums and Colin on bass.

Style and influences

The band’s sound draws on old-school punk and later punk and new wave, with references in their music and live shows to bands such as the Vandals and Stiff Little Fingers. Their songs and performances are described as having a distinctive, slightly eccentric character.

Live work and releases

avondale45 build their reputation through regular gigs and have appearances at GuilFest, including the Second Stage and UNISONzone, Bearded Theory, Strummercamp and Ambient Picnic. They also play support slots for Missing Andy, Sonic Boom Six, the UK Subs, TV Smith, the Crazy World Of Arthur Brown, McCavitys Cat, Simon Friend of The Levellers and The Vibrators.

The band has received airplay on independent and online stations in the UK and Germany, including a record of the week feature on Radio Sylvia in Germany, and they are featured on BBC Introducing. They have previously released a double A-side single, produced by Pablo Cook, which is available as a five-track CD and download.
