Audrey

Audrey is a Swedish group formed in Henån in 2002 and active since then. The band begins performing live in April of that year and records a demo in Gothenburg in the summer of 2003, which leads to an immediate response and to further shows later that summer and in autumn. It sells more than 500 demo copies during that period.

Style and sound

The group develops a dark, suggestive form of pop with a strong focus on melody, harmony and atmosphere. Its songs combine shimmering, melodic passages with darker moods and sadness. The vocals are shared across the band, and the group uses shifting harmonies and abstract lyrics rather than straightforward narrative.

Members

The Swedish line-up includes Victoria Skoglund on guitar, piano and vocals, Rebecka Kristiansson on bass and vocals, Emelie Molin on cello, piano and vocals, and Anna Tomlin on drums, percussion and vocals. Victoria Skoglund is identified as the guitarist who describes the band’s rehearsal conditions in an early music house in the Gothenburg archipelago.
