Audrey Hobert

Audrey Hobert is an American singer-songwriter from New York, United States. Her work spans alternative pop, indie pop, pop and pop rock. Born in 1999, she studies and writes across music, television and video direction before moving into a solo songwriting career.

Education and early work

Hobert studies at New York University and graduates in 2021 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. After university, she works as a writer’s production assistant at Warner Brothers. She also becomes a staff writer on every episode of the Nickelodeon sitcom The Really Loud House, which runs from 2022 to 2024.

Songwriting with Gracie Abrams

Hobert later turns to songwriting and works closely with Gracie Abrams, whom she knows from fifth-grade graduation. The two co-write several songs for Abrams’ 2024 studio album The Secret of Us. Hobert also directs several music videos connected to the album.

Among the songs she co-writes is “That’s So True”, on which she also provides backing vocals. The track spends eight weeks at number one on the UK singles chart. Hobert and Abrams also write a sexually explicit version of the song on the roof of Electric Lady Studios, and Hobert performs the song live with Abrams on various occasions.

Other writing and publishing work

Through Abrams, Hobert signs a publishing deal with Universal Music Group. She goes on to co-write songs for other artists, including “Start All Over” for English singer-songwriter Alessi Rose. Through Universal, she meets Ricky Gourmet, who co-produces Finneas O’Connell’s debut album.

Solo release

Hobert releases her debut single, “Sue Me”, in 2025. The song is about wanting to feel wanted after a breakup, and it is the fifth song she writes alone.
