Breakthrough and key singles

One of his best-known tracks is “9pm (Till I Come)”, which reaches number one in the United Kingdom in 1998 and is widely treated as the first trance single to top the UK chart. The track is known for its guitar riff, which becomes a signature sound in his early productions after he finds it by experimenting with a new production deck. In the UK, he also releases “Don’t Stop!” and “Killer”, while in continental Europe he scores hits with “I Don’t Wanna Stop” and his version of Olive’s “You’re Not Alone”.

Albums and later releases

His 2000 album Two Worlds is a two-disc set built around the idea of music for different moods, with contrasting sections such as “The World Of Movement” and “The Relaxing World”. No Silence follows in 2004 and includes the singles “Ecstasy” and “Marrakech”. In 2005, he issues Seven Years, a compilation of 20 tracks that collects songs such as “The Summer”, “Let U Go”, “Hold U”, “Long Way Home” and “I Don’t Wanna Stop”, and also adds six new tracks: “Humanity”, “Let U Go (2005 Reworked)”, “Believe in Me”, “Trilogie, Pt. 2”, “Take Me Over” and “Far Beyond”.

Trilogy appears in 2007, followed by the single “Renegade”, which features Heather Nova. His 2009 album Future Memories includes work with Josh Gallahan, also known as Jades, and others, with “What About Us” and “L.A. Nights” as singles from the album. Distant Earth is released in 2011 as a two-disc album with contributions from Armin van Buuren, Dash Berlin, Melissa Loretta and Josh Gallahan; a third disc contains club versions of tracks from the first CD. Singles from the album include “Twisted Love” featuring Cristina Soto and “Gold” featuring JanSoon.

Style and collaborators

ATB’s later sound features more vocals, a wider range of textures and frequent piano parts. His releases also feature vocals from Roberta Carter Harrison of Wild Strawberries, and his next album is co-written with Tiff Lacey.
