Aston Merrygold is a singer, songwriter, actor, dancer and model from Peterborough, United Kingdom. He is a member of the British boyband JLS, a MOBO and BRIT award-winning group that finishes second on the fifth series of The X Factor in 2008.

JLS

With JLS, Merrygold is part of a group that releases two UK number one singles, “Beat Again” and “Everybody In Love”, and a debut self-titled album that also reaches number one in the UK. The group’s second album, Outta This World, includes “The Club Is Alive” and “Love You More”, both of which reach number one in the UK singles chart, while the album itself reaches number two.

Within JLS, Merrygold’s colour is blue. He is also known for his high vocal range and for acrobatic backflip displays during live performances.

Early television work

Merrygold first appears on television in 2002, when he performs as Michael Jackson on the children’s version of Stars In Their Eyes and finishes second. In 2004, he appears as Cookie in the pre-school series Fun Song Factory. He also auditions unsuccessfully for Britannia High in January 2008.
