Arp Attack

Arp Attack is a British indie and electronic trio from the south of England. The group begins life under the name Jazica and then changes its name after a period of development through regular live performance.

History

After two years of playing live and building its sound, the group attracts attention from Just Jack, who helps it reach the finals of the Road to V competition at Brighton’s Great Escape Festival. The band then appears on television, takes part in a photo shoot for NME, and supports acts including Delphic, Chew Lips, Two Door Cinema Club and Everything Everything.

In 2010, Phil Jackson of South Live plays the track “Illusions” regularly, and BBC radio sessions lead to a slot on the BBC Introducing stage at T in the Park 2010. After that appearance, the band changes its name to Arp Attack and begins to attract more gig offers. A later support show at The Cellars in Portsmouth brings it to the attention of Graffiti 6’s label, NW Free Music, which begins work on the band’s debut EP at Dean Street Studios in Soho.

Line-up

Frankie Murdoch grows up in West London and moves south to be nearer the sea and to study audio technology. She sings and provides vocals.

Chris Smallwood comes from a small town in the Midlands and moves south. He plays guitar and synths.

Kevin Jones is born and raised in the south of England and is musically educated in the east. He plays drums.
