Arno Cost

Arno Cost is a French house and progressive house producer from France, born in 1986. He begins producing in 1999, working at first from his bedroom, and his early musical background is shaped by pop and disco heard through his parents. His productions draw on disco, Italo disco and French touch, with influences including Daft Punk, Benjamin Diamond, Alan Braxe, Philippe Zdar, Stuart Price, Axwell, Lifelike and Eric Prydz.

Early releases and breakthrough

He is discovered by Mathieu Bouthier of Serial Records in January 2006. That year he signs the track

Let U Go

with Norman Doray and Pierre de la Touche. The record gains wide play on French radio and support from international DJs including Didier Sinclair, Antoine Clamaran, Hoxton Whores, Ben Macklin, Narcotic Trust and Muttonheads.

Also in 2006, he remixes Geyster’s

Under The Fuse of Love

, a version that Pete Tong plays heavily and that reaches second place in the UK Club Charts for several weeks. During the same year he works on several mixes with The Freshmakers, including remixes of Serial Crew’s

, Da Sushiman’s

on Ledge Music, and a cover of Michael Jackson’s

Rilod

on Nice Music.

Magenta

and later work

His best-known early success is

Magenta

, written with Arias. The track first appears on Serial Records and later on Kontor, CR2 and Airplay. It receives support from DJs including Pete Tong, Bob Sinclar, Tom Novy, Ian Carey and Sebastian Ingrosso, and becomes one of the notable tracks around the Amsterdam Dance Event. It also appears with remixes by Dave Spoon and Tom Novy.

He continues to work on new tunes and remixes, and plans his first album for 2008. He also performs DJ sets with Norman Doray at Queen Club in Paris each month, with guest appearances, and appears at other gigs in France and abroad.
