Armstrong

Armstrong is a UK rock band from Aldershot, active from 2018 to the present. The name is also used by several other artists, but this entry refers to the band.

Style and background

The band is associated with pop-rock and is described as a UK rock act with a strong live reputation and chart success. It is presented as having a high-energy sound with infectious pop-rock melodies, combining rock riffs, keyboards, fast drumming, intelligent lyrics, and singalong choruses.

Career

Armstrong self-releases its debut single in summer 2006, and the track reaches number 23 in the independent charts. The group films the video with Ashley Cowan, who also works as a producer of CD:UK. The band then plays sold-out shows across the UK, including venues such as The Fly and Barfly in London.

It also supports acts including the Pigeon Detectives, Elliot Minor, You Me At Six, and The Sunshine Underground. After winning a public-vote competition against thousands of other bands, Armstrong records its debut album with Headroom Productions, a company that has previously worked with Kaiser Chiefs, Motion City Soundtrack, Grammatics, and the Pigeon Detectives.

Recognition and sponsorship

Kerrang! Magazine describes Armstrong as “a tornado of infectious pop-rock melodies.” Jagermeister invites the band to join its roster of sponsored artists, alongside acts including Bullet For My Valentine and Fightstar.

Releases and online presence

The band offers merchandise and recordings through its website, including T-shirts, bags, tickets, and CDs. Its debut album is planned under the title Songs About The Weather, and it is recorded with Headroom Productions.
