Arkham Witch

Arkham Witch is a heavy/doom-metal group from West Yorkshire that forms in 2008 in Keighley, UK. The line-up begins with Simon Iff? and Emily Ningauble of The Lamp of Thoth, who record a five-song demo that is well received.

The band later recruits Aldo “Dodo” Delarose, who has played in the Maltese thrash band Manslaughter and in the Yorkshire thrash group Let ’em Burn, and Johnny “The Demon” Demaine so that it can perform live. After a warm-up show for Dublin Doom Day and an opening slot at Hammer of Doom in Germany, the group records its debut album, On Crom’s Mountain, which is released on the German label Barbarian Wrath.

Arkham Witch plays traditional heavy metal with strong doom-metal elements and Lovecraftian references. Its second full-length album, Legions of the Deep, appears in 2012, followed by the EP Hammerstorm in 2013, both issued through Metal on Metal Records.
