Area 11

Area 11 is a Bristol-based group active since 2010. Its members are Echodeath, Sans Me and Sparkles*. The band works across alternative rock, electronic rock, indie rock and pop punk, and is also associated with electronic rock, electronic and gaijin rock.

Overview

The group combines Western rock guitar traditions with Eastern cultural influences. It builds a sound described as electronic hard rock, and is noted for energetic, often chaotic live performances.

Releases

Area 11 releases three EPs: Blackline in 2011, Underline in 2014 and Cassandra Rising in 2019. Its albums are All The Lights in the Sky, released in 2013, Modern Synthesis in 2016 and Singlarity in 2020. Blackline and All The Lights in the Sky are later reissued.

Reception and activity

The debut album All The Lights In The Sky gains chart success, and the band develops a dedicated fanbase across Europe and America. It remains active and continues to be identified with a strong live reputation.
