Aquasky

Aquasky is a drum and bass and breaks group from Bournemouth, United Kingdom. The group forms in 1995 and consists of Dave Wallace, Kieron Bailey and Brent Newitt.

Early releases and style

In early 1995, the trio begins making their own music and soon sends a demo to Moving Shadow records. Their first single, Dezires / Images, appears three months later and is remixed by Krust. The group starts out as a drum and bass act and later moves into the breaks scene.

Aliases and labels

For a period, the group uses the name Aquasky vs. Masterblaster for its breaks work, while keeping Aquasky for drum and bass. The Masterblaster name is later dropped and releases return to the Aquasky name. The trio also creates and runs the Passenger label, set up in 1997, and its sister label 777, established in 2004. These labels issue their heavy drum and bass-influenced breaks, and the group is also associated with the label Incident.

Collaborations and later work

The Teamplayers EP features collaborations with The Breakfastaz, Tayo, The Ragga Twins and Meat Katie.
