Applescal is the recording name of Pascal Terstappen, a Dutch electronic music producer born in 1987. He is from the Netherlands and is also associated with Berlin.

He grows up in Haarlem and spends most of his life in Breda, where he first comes into contact with electronic music and software synthesizers. After four years of experimenting, he begins to recognise the sounds he makes on his computer as the music he has heard in his head. In 2007, he moves to Amsterdam, where he combines student life with his early musical work.

Applescal works in ambient techno, downtempo, electro, IDM and melodic techno. His live set attracts attention, and DJs including Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Laurent Garnier and Anthony Pappa play his music in their sets.
