Any Given Day

Any Given Day is a German metalcore band from Gelsenkirchen, active since 2012. The group is made up of Dennis Diehl on vocals, Andy Posdziech and Dennis ter Schmitten on guitars, Michael Golinski on bass, and Leon Stiller and Raphael Altmann on drums. The band is identified with melodic metalcore and metalcore.

Formation and early release

The band forms in 2012 in Gelsenkirchen, with Diehl, Posdziech, ter Schmitten, Golinski and Altmann having played in several bands before starting Any Given Day. In October 2012, they record a three-track self-titled demo. The songs from that demo are later re-recorded for their debut album, My Longest Way Home.

Albums and chart success

My Longest Way Home is released worldwide in September 2014 through Redfield Records. The album reaches number 28 in the German album charts and stays there for one week. In 2019, the band releases its third studio album, Overpower, which includes the songs “Savior” and “Taking Over Me”.

Touring and collaborations

To support My Longest Way Home, the band tours in Munich, Bochum, Stuttgart and Berlin. In January 2014, it tours with Caliban for three shows, and in September 2014 it tours with Sonic Syndicate. In early 2015, Any Given Day again supports Caliban on the Ghost Empire Tour, alongside Bury Tomorrow and Dream On, Dreamer.

In 2016, the band records “Arise” with Matt Heafy, who is credited here as a singer and guitarist with Trivium.

Line-up changes

After the departure of longtime drummer Raphael Altmann, Leon Stiller becomes the band’s new drummer.
