Anuv Jain

Anuv Jain is an Indian singer-songwriter and music composer from Punjab, with a base in Mumbai. He is associated with Hindi, indie and folk-leaning Indian pop, and his songs are built around guitar-led arrangements and personal lyric writing.

Early life and background

Jain is born in 1995 in Ludhiana, Punjab. He grows up there with his twin sister, Anigha Jain, before moving to Mumbai to study for a Bachelor of Business Administration at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies.

Career

He begins sharing his work online in 2012, when he creates a YouTube channel for his music. His first song, Meri Baaton Me Tu, appears that same year and establishes the start of his recording career.

Over time, he releases songs including Baarishein, Ocean, Riha, Alag Aasmaan and Gul. These songs help build his profile within India’s independent music scene. His writing often deals with love, loss, self-reflection and lived experience.

Maula is a particularly personal song, dedicated to his late father and written from his sister’s perspective. In 2023, Husn reaches the top of the Apple Music India and Spotify India charts, and later releases such as Jo Tum Mere Ho also chart strongly on streaming platforms.
