Antonio Testa

Antonio Testa is an Italian composer, musician, percussionist and music therapist whose work focuses on organic sound and the creation of musical atmospheres. He uses a wide range of instruments, especially native and shamanic ones, alongside self-made instruments built from organic and recycled materials.

He has been active in contemporary music since the early 1980s, initially working as a percussionist with a particular emphasis on tribal and Afro-Caribbean rhythms, ethno-ambient music and world music. His practice also draws on ethnomusicology and on the curative uses of sound.

Testa’s music is used in healing contexts and therapy sessions, and it also appears in documentaries, exhibitions, television advertisements and theatre productions.
