Anti-Mortem

Anti-Mortem is a southern metal group from Chickasha, United States, active from 2008 to 2014. The band forms in 2008 and consists of five members: Larado Romo on vocals, Nevada Romo on guitar, Corey Henderson on bass, Zain Smith on guitar, and Levi Dickerson on drums.

The group builds its early sound through extensive live work, playing more than 300 shows. Its members spend their formative years rehearsing in a concert stage they build in the Smith family barn, originally intended to store an old car collection. When Zain Smith’s parents are away working at weekends, the band uses the barn as a makeshift venue and invites friends and family from Chickasha to hear them play.

Anti-Mortem’s style combines American heavy metal with the influence of classic Southern rock and blues. Their music is described through gravel-throated vocals, heavy riffs and thick grooves, rooted in the Southern musical background of the band members.
