Ant Brooks is a UK DJ and producer associated with house, tech house and techno. Based in Coventry, he emerges in the electronic music scene with a focus on production as well as club performance.

Production and releases

Brooks makes his breakthrough with his debut release, Shuffle, which receives support from Pete Tong and helps establish his profile. He follows this with a run of releases including Size, Filtered, El Surco and the Wired EP. His work appears on labels including CR2, Toolroom Records, Diffused Music, Monique Music and 303 Lovers. Some of these tracks also feature on compilations such as Size Matters and Toolroom Ibiza.

DJing and style

As a DJ, Brooks plays sets that combine original tracks, remixes, re-edits and bootlegs. His performances draw on techno with a groove-led approach, and he plays at venues including Ministry of Sound, Space, Pacha and Mint Club.

Background and influences

Brooks develops an early interest in electronic music through mixtapes of Carl Cox and Ratpack in the early 1990s. He begins DJing hard house on Belt Drive turntables and vinyl before moving to Technics 1210 direct-drive decks. He then teaches himself production, building his own sound through self-directed studio work.

Remixes and collaborations

His remixes include work for Michael Woods, Axwell, Groove Armada and Robbie Rivera’s Juicy Music imprint. He also receives support from artists and labels including Toolroom Records and Michael Woods, who describes him as one of the freshest producers in the industry.
