Anonymous
Anonymous is a name used by several different musical acts and by unknown historical composers and performers whose music survives without a documented name. In music history, the term commonly refers to early works from medieval, folk, baroque and other classical traditions where the creator is not identified.
Indianapolis rock band
One version of Anonymous is a band from Indianapolis, Indiana, formed in the late 1970s and led by Ron Matelic, formerly of Sir Winston & the Commons. This group releases one album, Inside the Shadow, which features West Coast rock influenced by Jefferson Airplane and Quicksilver Messenger Service. The band later becomes J. Rider and issues one album under that name, No Longer Anonymous.
1980s United States band
Another Anonymous is a United States band active in the 1980s. Its track Corporate Food appears on Alternative Tentacles’ compilation Let Them Eat Jellybeans in 1981.
Andorran group
Anonymous is also the name of a group from Andorra formed in 2004. It draws inspiration from Blink-182 and Sum 41. The group performs at the opening of the Games of the Small States in 2005, supports Falling Kids on a 2006 tour of Catalonia, places second in the Global Battle of the Bands, takes part in Emergenza, and participates in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007.
Belgian DJ alias
Anonymous is also an alias used by Belgian DJ Serge Ramaekers. Under this name, he creates jumpstyle music and works in collaborations including The Highstreet Allstars and E-Ject. One of the best-known tracks associated with this name is U Got 2 Know.
