Annie DiRusso
Annie DiRusso is an American indie rock musician based in Nashville, Tennessee. She also works across indie pop, indie folk and pop rock, and her songs combine garage-influenced guitars with a melodic, pop-leaning style. She builds much of her profile around direct, hook-driven singles and a high-energy live show.
Early releases and singles
DiRusso begins releasing music in 2017 with the songs “Gone/Blue Walls”. In 2018 she issues “Dead Dogs”, “Don’t Swerve” and “Jonathan”. Her 2020 release is “20”, followed later that year by “Judgements From The World’s Greatest Band”.
Breakthrough and touring
In March 2021, DiRusso releases “Nine Months”, which becomes a viral hit on TikTok. She follows it in July with a cover of Tommy James and the Shondells’ “I Think We’re Alone Now”. In August 2021 she releases “Coming Soon”, which also goes viral on TikTok and gains nearly ten million streams on Spotify. During the same period she tours in support of Sara Kays and SAMIA, bringing her live show to wider audiences.
EP and album
In 2022 DiRusso releases “Infinite Jest” in April and “Call It All Off” in August. She then releases “Nauseous” as the first single from her debut EP, followed by “Emerson”. Her debut EP, God, I Hate This Place, is released in 2023. She later follows it with her debut album, Super Pedestrian.
