Annasach Ceilidh Band

Annasach Ceilidh Band

Annasach Ceilidh Band is a three-piece ceilidh band with a dance caller, active since 1990. The name Annasach is Gaelic for “unusual” or “unconventional”.

Style and line-up

The band has a folk-based approach rather than a strictly traditional ceilidh sound. Its current line-up consists of fiddle, keyboard and bass, creating a front line with a piano-and-bass backing. The dance caller is Tricia, who helps guide dancers through the ceilidh sets.

Performance history

The group plays for ceilidhs, parties, birthdays, weddings and folk festivals, and performs in locations ranging from Aberdeen to Zurich. Tricia has many years of experience as a caller and is part of the band’s regular dance-led format.
