Anna Pancaldi

Anna Pancaldi is a London-based singer-songwriter active in the UK from 2012. She develops an indie-oriented style and performs as a solo artist.

Background

She grows up in a musical family and begins performing from an early age. Moving to Cape Town, South Africa in 2001 helps build her confidence and reduces severe stage fright. She returns to the UK in 2004 and studies for a National Diploma in Music Practice.

Early performances and recognition

After returning to the UK, she performs in venues across Essex and Suffolk, including theatres, charity events, music festivals and local BBC radio stations. In 2011 she is described by the judging panel of Live and Unsigned as a musical gem with star quality, and at the grand final at the O2 Indigo she receives praise from BBC Radio 1 presenter Tom Deacon for having a sweet and soulful voice.

Recording and later work

By 2012 she relocates to London to continue her music. She begins recording an EP and works on composing her first album after travelling in Asia, New Zealand, Cape Town and South America, using those experiences to write songs drawn from her life.
