Ankor

Ankor is an alternative metal band from Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain. The group forms in 2003 in Els Pallaresos, a small village near Barcelona, when its members are around 14 years old. It is active from 2003 to the present and is associated with alternative metal, metal and metalcore.

Line-up

The band includes Juan "Expo" Expósito, Rosa de la Cruz, Javier "Rubio" Casanova, Fito Martinez, David Romeu, José "Josy" Alracón, Jordi Vidal, Alberto Muñoz, Julio Lopez, Jessie Williams, Raphaela Tachenko and Eleni Nota. The bio also identifies Jessie Williams as a front singer and screamer from Bristol, UK, Eleni Nota as a drummer from Rhodes, Greece, David Romeu and Fito Martinez as guitarist-singers, and Julio López as bassist from Tarragona.

Career

Ankor builds a reputation in Spain as a national reference and reaches audiences beyond the country. By 2015, readers of La Heavy, described as the oldest and most prestigious rock magazine in Spain and South America, choose the band as best newcomer. The group has five albums and, by 2017, its fourth studio album helps it move to a new level and begin its first worldwide tour.

White Dragon

The band’s later album is described as its most ambitious release, drawing on a wider range of styles while mixing metal with rock, rap, electronic elements and funk. It is mixed by Dan Korneff, who has worked with Pierce The Veil, A Day To Remember, Paramore and Papa Roach, and mastered by Ted Jensen, whose credits include Avenged Sevenfold, Bring Me The Horizon and Muse.
