Anina is a singer-songwriter and dancer from Timor-Leste who is based in Berlin. She starts making music as a child and begins writing her own songs in 2006, initially on piano and later on a wider range of instruments.

Music

Anina releases two EPs, Thing Called Paradise and Already Gone, and two full-length records, Turbulence and It Is What It Is. Her songs are written, recorded and produced by her. Her work draws on a mix of genres and is associated with pop, experimental music, electronica and indie. She cites Björk and Tori Amos among the artists that influence her style.

Background

Alongside her music, Anina also works as a professional dancer. Her activity is linked to East Timorese folk music as well as a German-language pop and experimental electronic context.
