Anias

Anias is a post-hardcore band from Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. The group forms in the summer of 2004 as a five-piece aggressive rock band and builds a reputation in the Las Vegas music scene through a fast, energetic live show.

History

The band starts as five friends with a shared interest in music. After an initial period of activity, it faces a setback following the death of bassist Ryan Stevens. The group then takes a brief hiatus before regrouping and continuing in his memory.

Anias releases a five-track EP, The Youthful Preface to a Revolutionary Chapter, in 2005. The record sells more than 1,000 copies through online sales and at shows, reaches the Smartpunk.com top 10 for three weeks alongside bands such as Thrice, Saosin and Underoath, and gains more than 120,000 plays on the band’s MySpace page. Through Smartpunk.com, the release also reaches listeners in Europe, Australia and Japan.

In 2005, Anias is chosen from more than 276 bands in the Los Angeles area to appear on the Taste of Chaos tour, performing alongside The Used and My Chemical Romance. Later that year, the band also appears on MTV’s My Super Sweet Sixteen and gives an exclusive interview to the channel. The band continues touring through that summer.
