Andy Moor

Andy Moor is a UK electronic music DJ and producer from Stoke-on-Trent, born in 1980. He works in trance, progressive trance, progressive house and related electronic styles, and is a member of Tilt, Leama & Moor, Lewis & Moor and STADIUM4.

Career

He is known for a sound associated with progressive and trance production, and he has been active in the genre for many years. He hosts the Moor Music podcast and owns the AVA Recordings label, including the AVA Blue imprint.

Moor appears in the DJ Mag Top 100 for six consecutive years and receives nominations and awards across the electronic dance music scene. He is nominated for the DJ Awards in 2009, wins Best Dance Record at the International Dance Music Awards in 2006, and receives Best Trance Producer and Best Trance Track in 2004. He is also nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Remixed Recording category for his remix of Delerium’s Angelicus.

Releases and collaborations

His debut album Zero Point One is planned as a major release on Armada and AVA Recordings and contains 18 original tracks. It includes collaborations with Meredith Call, Carrie Skipper, Sue McLaren, Betsie Larkin, Ashley Wallbridge and Orkidea. Moor also collaborates and remixes for artists including Tiësto, Above & Beyond, Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne and Paul Oakenfold.

Early musical development

He starts learning music at a young age, playing his first piano piece at five. By 11, he plays six additional instruments, begins DJing at 13, and is performing for large audiences by 21.
