Andy Jones is a musician, songwriter, singer, photographer, executive director and co-founder from Ghana. The name is used by more than one artist, including a creative leader of the Connecticut-based atmospheric punk collective Co-Pilots, an English/German musician linked with Ferryman and The Acoustic Outlaws / The Electric Outlaws, and an Andy Jones from Teesside who fronts or has fronted several projects.

Music projects

As a musician, Andy Jones appears in several different acts and solo releases. One version of the name is associated with Co-Pilots, where he is the creative leader. He also releases solo material under the Co-Pilots name, although two small solo records issued in early 2011 are later retired from that project name when the band changes direction. Those recordings are available for free on his Bandcamp page.

Another Andy Jones fronts the mod pop trio 1941 during the 1990s, playing to large audiences and winning battle-of-the-band competitions and other accolades. After the group splits, he performs solo with acoustic guitar, building a reputation for fiery pop played in a flamenco style. He later heads Andy Jones and the Norton Rockets and signs to Paper Sleeve Records in 2011.

Releases and collaborations

The Teesside-based Andy Jones releases The Road to Santiago in 2003 on From Teesside with Love, followed by From the Son to the Father in 2007. He spends a period developing songwriting and production skills by working with other artists on a range of musical projects. A later release, Unspoken and Shield, is funded through crowdfunding, and a third album titled Fights Like Ours is also associated with this work. Across these projects, Andy Jones is described as working in atmospheric punk, mod pop, acoustic pop and flamenco-influenced performance, with involvement in bands and solo work across England, Germany and the United States.
