Andy Bole is a musician associated with acoustic music, known for work as a solo artist and as part of a number of bands and collaborations. He plays bouzouki and Weissenborn acoustic slide guitar, and his instruments are used regularly in television and film soundtrack work.

Career

He performs in the acoustic field and has played in several respected acoustic bands, most notably The Late Night Band, which is regarded as one of the finest acts in the UK. He also performs with his own groups Cortez and Fret & Fiddle.

During his time with The Late Night Band, he performs at festivals across Europe and America, and the group produces critically acclaimed albums. He also appears in concert in Europe and America as a solo performer and with other musicians.

Collaborations and studies

Andy Bole performs with members of Fairport Convention, Gong, Blowzabella, The Eleanor Rigby Experience, Damo Suzuki, The Electric Light Orchestra, Dave Stewart and Mike Oldfield. He also studies the Hansa Veena with Indian classical musician Barun Kumar Pal.

Solo work

As a solo artist, he releases seven solo albums. His album Ramshackle Pier is voted instrumental album of the year by the acoustic magazine Froots.
