Andrew Duhon is an American singer-songwriter from New Orleans. He begins writing songs in high school, drawing on the work of Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau, as well as the poetry of Walt Whitman and Robert Frost.
In the summer of 2002, he lives and works at an old retreat house on the edge of New Orleans’ French Quarter. During that time he develops a strong attachment to the character of the city. A year later, Hurricane Katrina leaves the city and his former French Quarter home badly damaged, and the blues influences he has found there continue to inform his writing.
His songs are shaped by self-examination and a direct, personal style. His performances are described as reflecting that perspective clearly, with a vocal delivery that matches the intensity of his writing.
