Andrew Ashong

Andrew Ashong is a London-based Ghanaian-British soul artist, originally from Forest Hill. His work sits within soul, and he also moves across indie, house and R&B contexts. He releases music on Which Way.

Releases and recognition

His first solo release appears on Theo Parrish’s Sound Signature label. The title track, “Flowers”, wins Track of the Year at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards in 2013. He is also described by Paul Lester of The Guardian as an artist whose music draws on Roy Ayers, Shuggie Otis, Bill Withers and Marvin Gaye.

DJ work

Ashong also DJ's, and he is known for an extensive record collection, playing vinyl from both older and newer records across the UK and internationally.
