Andrea Soler

Andrea Soler is a singer-songwriter from Lismore, Australia, based in the Northern Rivers. She grows out of the chanson tradition of French folk music and comes from a bohemian family of Spanish and French descent. Her songs draw on indie folk, jazz, roots and world music, and she is associated with a troubadour style rooted in folk storytelling.

Career and performances

Soler tours and performs internationally, including a twelve-week tour across Europe. Her live appearances include the Rudolstadt festival in Germany, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Larmer Tree Festival in the UK, as well as dates in Germany, Switzerland, Denmark and Paris. In Australia, she has played Woodford Folk Festival, the National Folk Festival and Mullum Music Festival.

Recordings and recognition

Her debut album is Earth On An Axis. She wins ABC North Coast Artist of the Week, reaches the finals of the 2012 Music Oz Awards, and takes out the Female Vocals and Adult Contemporary Songwriter categories at the 2012 North Coast Music Industry Awards. She is also noted as a Larmer Tree Festival favourite.

Performance style

Soler performs both intimate solo shows and larger festival sets, and her live work is marked by warmth and an ability to connect closely with audiences.
