Andrea Parker

Andrea Parker is a British producer and DJ from Yalding, Kent, who later moves to London. She works in styles including downtempo, electro, electronica and trip hop, and is also associated with techno and IDM.

Early development

Parker starts out playing cello before turning to electronic music production and DJing. Her background in performance and production feeds into a sound that is described as warm and emotional.

Production and releases

Her production work often uses vintage synthesizers such as Fairlights and ARPs. One of her albums, Kiss My ARP, takes its title from that association and appears on Mo' Wax. She also releases music on Aperture and Touchin’ Bass.

Remixes and collaborations

Parker is an active remixer whose work includes material for Ryuichi Sakamoto, Depeche Mode and The Orb. She also compiles a DJ-Kicks album for Studio !K7.
