An Horse

An Horse is an Australian indie pop band from Brisbane. The group forms around Kate Cooper, who sings and plays guitar, and Damon Cox, who plays drums. Cooper is also associated with Iron On, and Cox with Intercooler.

History

Cooper and Cox meet while working at the independent record store Skinny's. They begin making music together in 2007 and rehearse after hours in the shop, using a PA set up there. The band remains active from 2007 onward.

Releases

An Horse releases an EP, Not Really Scared, and two albums, Rearrange Beds and Walls. The first two records are produced by Magoo at Applewood studios in Queensland. Walls is produced by Howard Redekopp.

Tours and support slots

In 2008, An Horse tours the United States as an opening act for Tegan and Sara before the release of their first album. In August 2008, they support Death Cab for Cutie on their Australian tour. In October 2009, they open for Silversun Pickups and Cage the Elephant on an east coast leg of the Swoon tour. After their 2009 North American tour, they also support Tegan and Sara in Canada in 2010.
