Amparo Sanchez is a Spanish singer and guitarist from Alcalá la Real, Spain. Born in 1969, she performs in folk, latin and mariachi styles, and is best known for work under the name Amparanoia, which becomes the name associated with the band she leads.

Amparanoia

As Amparanoia, Sanchez performs with a sound that combines Spanish influences with Latin American rhythms, Cuban music and reggae. She releases seven albums and plays about a thousand concerts between 1996 and 2006. Manu Chao occasionally assists on the project.
