Amber Lamps

Amber Lamps are an alternative rock group based in Los Angeles, United States. The band’s line-up includes Monty Buckles, Josh Erkman and Tim Ford.

The group forms in 2010, originally as a Melbourne High School band project. In its early period, it appears on Triple J Unearthed and wins its first Push Start heat only a few months after forming. It later wins the regional final, building a repertoire of original songs and performing as a VCE Music Performance group.

In 2011, Amber Lamps feature at the Top Class music showcase and win the Freeza Push Start grand prize at the Push Over Festival. They also play with acts including The Vines and Jebediah, and are named FReeZA Artist of the Month for April. Their Push Over performance leads to feature coverage in Melbourne magazines Beat and Spress.

The band is associated with alt-rock and rock.
