Amber D
Amber D is a hard dance DJ and producer. Born in 1982, she works in hard house, hard trance and hard dance, and is also associated with hardhouse. She becomes known through the UK hard dance scene and later expands into electro and house under the name Amber D’Amour.
Career
Amber D is selected as a Mixmag Future Hero in 2004 and wins the Mixmag Future Hero of the Year award for two years running. She is one of the few hard dance DJs to play an Essential Mix live on BBC Radio 1. She appears on the cover of Mixmag and M8 Magazine, features in a four-page spread in Mixmag, and gives interviews in regional and national newspapers internationally. She also appears on television on MTV and Rapture.
Her early reputation grows from performances at Golden and Goodgreef, and she goes on to headline many major hard dance events. Her appearances include Tidy Weekender, Polysexual, Frantic, Storm, Wildchild, Slinky, Garlands, Dance Academy and Twisted. She also plays at summer festivals in Australia, Godskitchen Global Gathering, Wildchild Outside, Sanctuary Festival and Creamfields in the UK, Dance Valley in the Netherlands, and Extreme vs Tidy in Ibiza. Her club and festival work continues in Russia, Bahrain, Dubai, Canada, the USA, Australia and New Zealand.
Recording work and other projects
Amber D has her own label, D’Amour Recordings, and uses the alias Amber D’Amour for work in electro and house. Her first release, Give It Up, is signed to The Worlds Greatest Electro Volume 2. She also remixes 12" Thumpers’ Don’t Cross the Line, which is played widely in hard dance venues.
Background
She is classically trained on piano, completes a BTEC National Diploma in Music Technology, and has her own home studio. Her background in music and technical DJ skills form a major part of her profile in the hard dance scene.
