Ambassador21

Ambassador21, also credited as Ambassador 21, is an electronic group from Minsk, Belarus, active since 2001. The act consists of Alexey Protasov, also known as DJ Jesus Christ, and Natasha A Twentyone. Their work combines industrial music with strong hardcore and electro punk influences, and they are also associated with digital hardcore, breakcore, rhythmic noise and noise.

Background

The group is based in Minsk and develops a sound shaped by industrial and hardcore forms, with a post-Soviet character noted in descriptions of their music. They operate as a duo and have been active continuously since 2001.

Record label and releases

Ambassador21 found their own label, Invasion Wreck Chords, at the end of 2001. Through the project they release full-length records and also appear on compilations and releases on labels including Ant-Zen, Hands, Pflichtkauf, D-Trash, Restroom, Audiotrauma, Out Of Line and Beton Kopf Media. Their label issues a number of their releases, including Drunken, Crazy, With A Gun, which is put out in celebration of the group’s fifth anniversary and includes remixes by Wumpscut, Monolith, Asche, Contagious Orgasm, This Morn Omina, P.A.L., Ah Cama-Sotz, Mimetic and others. They also release Cut&Go, a collection of remixes by the group for Synapscape, Foetus, Sonar, Wumpscut, Kiew, Snog and more. Another full-length, Fuck All $y$tem$, is announced on Invasion Wreck Chords, with a US edition on Vendetta Music, and includes remixes by Synapscape, Imminent and S.I.N.A.

Live activity and collaborations

The duo tours widely and performs across Europe as well as in Russia and Belarus. Festival appearances include Maschinenfest, Elektroanschlag in Altenburg, Resistance Festival in Bratislava and London, Sick & Twisted in London, Sickfest in Moscow, Dark Easter in Utrecht, Noxious Art Festival, Slimelight, Metropolis and Breakcore Gives Me Wood. They also perform at Maschinenfest with their side-project Suicide Inside. Over time, they work with a wide range of artists including Ah Cama-Sotz, Asche, Axiome, Bong-Ra, Cdatakill, Contagious Orgasm, Converter, End, Fanny, Hypnoskull, Iszoloscope, Mimetic, Monolith, Mothboy, P.A.L., Proyecto Mirage, Roger Rotor, Schizoid, S.K.E.T., Snog, Sonar, Synapscape, Tarmvred, This Morn Omina and Wumpscut.
