Ambassador

Ambassador is a name used by several different acts, including Christian hip-hop artist William “Duce” Branch, an experimental and abstract electro project formed by Ken Taylor in 2000, an alias of Dutch trance producer Mischa van der Heiden, and a math rock/indie rock band from Grand Rapids, Michigan.

William “Duce” Branch

William “Duce” Branch, also known as The Ambassador, records as a Christian hip-hop artist. He is a founding member of The Cross Movement and also records independently. Branch serves as one of the teaching pastors at Epiphany Fellowship, a church plant in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and he is a former president of Cross Movement Ministries. He says he has been ministering Christian gospel since 1991 and describes his aim as being a model and messenger of the gospel’s transforming power, especially among hip-hop generations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Bible from Lancaster Bible College and a master’s degree in theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. His master’s thesis, “Theological Implications of Hip-Hop Culture,” inspires his solo album The Thesis.

Experimental electro project

AMBASSADOR is also the name of an experimental and abstract electro act formed in 2000 by Ken Taylor, who spent the 1990s working in the music business and helping artists including Radiohead, Marilyn Manson and LeAnn Rimes gain exposure. Taylor moved to Portland, Oregon in 1999 to form the project, and Daniel Martin Austin joins during the recording of the first full-length release, Arrival. A follow-up, London Paris New York, is released in 2007.

Mischa van der Heiden alias

Ambassador is an alias of Mischa van der Heiden, also known as DJ Misjah. Under this name, he is associated with trance releases including “One of These Days” and “The Fade”, as well as a remix of Blaze’s “My Beat”.

Math rock/indie rock band

Ambassador is also the name of a math rock and indie rock band from Grand Rapids, Michigan.
