Alpha Tiger

Alpha Tiger is a heavy metal, power metal and speed metal group from Freiberg, Germany. It forms in 2007 under the name Satin Black, with guitarists Alex and Peter as the founders. The line-up later expands with drummer Axel and bassist Dirk, and the band first plays covers of well-known heavy metal songs before beginning to write its own material.

Early line-up changes and debut recording

By the end of 2007, Robin joins as lead singer and the group focuses on original songs. The first album, Harlequin, is produced by Eric Krause, the guitarist from Painful Existence. After musical differences, Robin leaves the band and Stephan becomes the new vocalist.

Style

The band draws on heavy metal from the 1980s and cites influences ranging from Iron Maiden to Metallica. Its sound combines elements of heavy metal, thrash metal and power metal, with melodic high-energy vocals, extended guitar solos and an old-school visual style.
