Alpha Road

Alpha Road is a Cambridge-based indie rock-pop band. The group is active from 2006 and consists of Tim Bond on lead guitar, Tom Phelan on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, George Collins on bass guitar and backing vocals, and Michael Boyle on drums.

The band forms around Boyle and Phelan, who start playing instruments together in the early 2000s. Collins joins soon after, and the group initially plays punk rock covers before moving into original material. Phelan and Boyle write most of the early songs, while Collins also contributes some material and performs bass and vocals. The band later looks for a lead guitarist, and Bond joins to complete the lineup.

Alpha Road’s line-up gives the band a dual-guitar setup, with Bond handling lead parts and Phelan moving to rhythm guitar. The group’s music is described as indie rock-pop, and the members are all based in Cambridge.
