Allies

Allies is a Christian rock group from the United States. The band releases six albums across the 1980s and early 1990s, with its best-known line-up centred on guitarist Randy Thomas and vocalist Bob Carlisle. Thomas previously plays with Sweet Comfort Band, and Carlisle later pursues a solo career and records “Butterfly Kisses”, which he co-writes with Thomas.

Line-up

The group includes Bob Carlisle on lead vocals and guitars, Randy Thomas on guitars, vocals and bass on the first release, and Scott Sheriff on keyboards and vocals. Sam Scott is also part of the band in its earlier years, handling electric keyboards, acoustic keyboards and vocals. Other members over time include Matthew Chapman on bass, Jim Erickson on drums, Kenny Williams on keyboards, saxophone and vocals, Mark Hill on bass and vocals, and Brian Fullen on drums.

Allies records six albums: Allies in 1985 on Light Records, Virtues in 1986 on Light Records, Shoulder to Shoulder in 1987 on DaySpring Records, Long Way from Paradise in 1989 on DaySpring, The River in 1990 on DaySpring, and Man with a Mission in 1992 on DaySpring.
