All Saints
All Saints are a London pop group formed in 1993. The lineup includes Melanie Blatt, Shaznay Lewis, Nicole Appleton and Natalie Appleton. The group combines pop and rock, and is associated with British music of the 1990s.
Career
The group’s debut album, All Saints, appears in 1997. Its first single, “I Know Where It’s At”, reaches number 4 on the UK chart. The follow-up single, “Never Ever”, becomes a major hit and sells more than two million copies in the United Kingdom. All Saints later release their second studio album, Saints & Sinners, in 2000.
The band has five number-one singles in total. They split in 2001. After that, Nicole and Natalie Appleton form the duo Appleton, while Melanie Blatt and Shaznay Lewis also pursue solo work.
Reformation and later releases
All Saints reform in 2006 and sign to Parlophone Records. Their comeback single, “Rock Steady”, reaches number 2. The third album, Studio 1, peaks at number 40 in the UK. A later single, “Chick Fit”, is issued as a download-only release, and the group leaves Parlophone in 2009.
In 2013, the group reform again to support the Backstreet Boys on five dates across the UK and Ireland. Their fourth studio album, Red Flag, is followed by the single “One Strike”.
