Ali Wilson is a trance DJ and producer from Sidcup, United Kingdom, associated with hard trance, progressive trance and tech trance. He builds a career in UK and international club music through a technical style and a wide range of influences drawn from across electronic music.

Career

Wilson establishes himself as a producer within about seven years, with a sound that is described as distinctive and technically focused. He starts attracting attention at 18, when Frantic invites him to play at Camden Palace in London, now known as Koko. He then appears at a range of major clubs and events, including Brixton Academy, The End, The Gallery at Turnmills, State of Trance at Anzu in Brazil and 1015 in San Francisco.

His reputation grows through club media and industry recognition. He is named among the top young DJs to watch worldwide, receives a Mixmag Future Hero award in 2003, is chosen as best new producer by Harderfaster.net, and is named one to watch by DJMag. Carl Cox later includes him among his producers of 2006 in the DJ Mag Top 100 Poll, and Judge Jules invites him to record a mix for Radio 1 as part of a Top Tip for 2008 feature.

Releases and label work

Wilson releases music across a number of major labels and builds a catalogue that leads to substantial record sales and appearances on compilations. In 2005 he launches TEK ELEC Records, a label intended as a home for his own sound. The label receives support from DJs including Carl Cox, Paul Van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Eddie Halliwell, Marco V, Judge Jules and Sander van Doorn.
