Algernon Cadwallader

Algernon Cadwallader is a Philadelphia emo and indie rock group that forms in 2005 and remains active. The band includes Nick Tazza, Peter Helmis, Colin Mahoney, Joe Reinhart and Matt Bergman. It also includes former members of Halfway to Holland.

Releases and recording history

The group releases its first full-length album, Some Kind Of Cadwallader, in 2008. Its second full-length, Parrot Flies, follows in 2011. In 2018 the band reissues its albums to digital streaming services for the first time. That reissue also includes what the band calls its “third LP”: a compilation built from its 2006 demo, the 2009 Fun EP, and several B-sides and covers.

Activity and later work

In 2022 Algernon Cadwallader reunites for a United States reunion tour and later tours Europe and Japan. In 2025 it releases Trying Not to Have a Thought and announces another tour of the United States and Canada. Its members also play in Hop Along, Business Models, Mike Bell & The Movies, and Yankee Bluff.
